Grilled Chicken Wings with Apple Bourbon Mop Sauce
If cooking indoors, place the wings in a rack set inside a rimmed baking sheet and pop under the broiler for about 15 minutes, brushing them with the mop sauce before serving.
Ingredients
- 1 cup apple jelly
- 3/4 cup bourbon or apple cider
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 pounds Just Bare Chicken Wingettes and Drummettes
Instructions
-
Heat grill to medium heat. Mix all ingredients but wings in a medium saucepan. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, for about 15 minutes or until reduced by one-third.
-
Place wings on grill; cook, turning once, about 15 minutes. Brush with mop sauce. Continue to grill, brushing again after 5 minutes, until wings are tender and juices run clear, about 10 minutes longer. Cook to internal temp of 165°F.
-
Bring remaining mop sauce to a boil; serve with wings.
